The IIE Postgraduate Diploma in Business Leadership is a management development programme aimed at all managerial levels who aspire to gain the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for successful general business management and effective leadership. It focuses specifically on the fundamentals of operations to integrate all relevant disciplines such as Finance, Human Resources, Marketing into the overall operational plan of the organisation. With a strong focus on problem solving and developing leadership competencies, this qualification is designed to prepare learners for professional and or managerial roles in private, public, and development and not-profit sectors. The IIE Business Leadership Programme will develop analytical skills, problem solving and proactive thinking. In addition, the programme will provide the underpinning knowledge and understanding required to operate effectively in a managerial role. The emphasis will evolve from an operational to a more strategic perspective of leadership in a business context.
The total number of credits for the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Leadership is 120, including 90 credits from fundamental modules, 30 credits from 2 elective modules of 15 credits each. A minimum of 120 credits is required to obtain the qualification. The units are as follows:
The IIE Postgraduate Diploma in Business Leadership is an NQF Level 8 qualification. This gives students successful in this programme access to the IIE Masters of Business Administration and the IIE Masters of International Business programmes offered at IIE MSA.
