Why study Higher Certificate in Communication Practices?

The IIE Higher Certificate in Communication Practices will provide learners with foundational knowledge, cognitive and conceptual tools and practical techniques applicable to English Language and Communication Practices. Learners will develop skills to gather, process, produce and present information, while gaining foundational knowledge and conceptual tools in ideation and visualisation, and active social media practices.

Through the focus on design and problem-solving skills, digital and academic literacies, orientation to media studies, with a work integrated experiential learning requirement, this higher certificate will provide an employee with a competitive edge in their workplace, as well as serving as a pathway into a Bachelor of Arts degree. Minimum Admission Requirements

National Senior Certificate (NSC) Higher Certificate pass with English (30%)

National Certificate (Vocational) (NC(V)) Higher Certificate pass with English (40%)

Senior Certificate (SC) Endorsement – none; with English (33.3%)

Senior Certificate (Amended) (SC(a)) A minimum of 30% in LOLT on NSC/ SC(a) OR with a min. of 33.3% on SC

International Students

A SAQA Evaluation Certificate with NSC L4 equivalence with at least 30% or equivalent for English.

Award

The Higher Certificate in Communication Practices is awarded by The IIE. This qualification is on NQF level 5.
