Michelle Vermeulen was an associate director in auditing at PwC until 2010. In 2011 she joined Murray and Roberts Construction as the head of finance of their Engineering Division. In 2013 she started lecturing Taxation at The University of Johannesburg on a part-time basis.
She joined Monash South Africa in 2015 as the subject head for Corporate Governance and Auditing. Michelle holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the Rand Afrikaans University, for which she completed a three-year dissertation on The Valuation of Intangible Assets. Michelle achieved the seventh position in her final countrywide examination for admission to The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (The 2002 Public Practice Examination).
She has always been passionate about all things academic and hopes to transfer some of her enthusiasm to her students on a daily basis.
