Marlene Bogaards is a lecturer in Marketing at Monash South Africa (MSA). Her academic career spans over 10 years with specific focus on lecturing in the fields of Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Retail Business Management and Marketing Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
She has also co-ordinated various university programmes within the field of Marketing. Marlene has been part of the development of numerous study materials and has lectured Retail Business Management and Contemporary Retailing for industry partners such as Pick n Pay and Massmart.
Marlene holds a Master’s degree in Business Management (cum laude) with a focus on the networking practices of Gauteng Businesswomen. She has published in numerous national and international journals as well as presented at various national and international conferences.
Marlene has a passion for teaching and has won numerous teaching and learning awards including the MSA Purple Award (2016) which acknowledges the top 8.91% units within all units lectured at Monash globally. Marlene is currently busy with her Ph.D, focusing on the black township consumer market in South Africa. She is annually invited to talk to peers and students about the behaviour of the black township consumer. Her research interests also include consumer behaviour and integrated marketing communications.
