The module prepares for practice. In conjunction with the module on legislation and policy, these modules will provide the theory behind, and experiential learning on, aspects of creative, diverse and restorative practices. The third and fourth levels of a civically engaged student are competence and culmination. Building on the third year internship and project placement, the student will now share their skills by mentoring first year students.


  • Foster a mentoring relationship with diverse people.
  • Identify typical problems and needs of students.
  • Design recommendations to solve identified problems in a restorative way.


Within semester/Formative assessment: 50%
Examination/Summative assessment: 50%

Workload requirements

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this module is 50 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. The module requires on average one/two hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
