Students start to engage in practice from the second year of study. Second year practicums are utilised to develop skills required for placements. This fourth practicum module will focus on the concretisation of important concepts applicable to practice.


  • Demonstrate knowledge of critical practice concepts, i.e. poverty, violence, abuse.
  • Efficiently define client needs.

Examination/Summative assessment: 50%

Workload requirements

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this module is 50 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. The module requires on average one/two hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
