The IIE Master of International Business (MIB) advances your business knowledge and gives you the skills to operate with an international perspective. The IIE Master of International Business (MIB) is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and is registered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) as a 180-credit qualification on level 9 (SAQA ID: 90595).
This IIE Master of International Business (MIB) is aimed at students who are typically working in a variety of different fields. This qualification specifically focuses on strategic planning for international operations and provides an in-depth understanding of the organisational capabilities required for international operations, including specialised functions such as international marketing, finance, economics and trade law. The degree includes classes that address topics such as imports and exports and intercultural communication against the background of changes brought about by the fourth industrial revolution.

Minimum Admission Requirements
An appropriate HEQSF Level 8 Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in business management and/ or strategic business management and/ or international business or equivalent discipline; OR
An overall qualification average of at least 60% is required
A relevant HEQSF Postgraduate Diploma or appropriate equivalent; OR
|An appropriate Level 8 Bachelor’s Degree (480 credits) may also be recognised as meeting the minimum entry requirements to a cognate Master’s Degree programme|

All modules, except for the research supervision modules, are offered over 10 weeks with five contact sessions which are scheduled for every second Saturday. Contact session dates will be availed to students upon registration. This is followed by further continuous study and assignment submissions via the Learning Management System (LMS). On campus contact sessions are further supported by structured group discussions through Skype/Zoom etc. between classes. The teaching model centres on contact with students and extended contact sessions that run parallel to a student’s self- directed studies with a practical focus, using case studies and business simulations as well as discussion within syndicate groups. Please note that in line with academic practice, The IIE’s curriculum is reviewed annually thus changes may occur in module structure and sequence in order to ensure that the qualification remains relevant. The exit level outcomes of the programme do not change. Registered students receive an updated programme curriculum on an annual basis.

The IIE Master of International Business (MIB) can be completed in 24 months full-time or 36 months part-time. The academic year runs from February to November.

In order to be awarded this qualification, you must have achieved a minimum final year mark of fifty percent (50%) for each module of the programme.

The IIE Master of International Business (MIB) degree is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at level 9 – the same level as other equivalent master degrees at both private and public South African institutes of higher education. The opportunity to apply for a doctoral degree at any South African university or higher education institution exists subject to meeting their specific programme entrance criteria of the selected institution.
